Dans le cadre de l’année internationale des déserts et de la désertification, Unisféra lance Governing Global Desertification - Linking Environmental Degradation, Poverty and Participation aux éditions Ashgate. L’ouvrage, co-édité par Pierre Marc Johnson, Karel Mayrand et Marc Paquin a été rendu possible grâce au support de l’Agence canadienne de développement international.

Cet ouvrage analyse la Convention des Nations Unies sur la lutte contre la désertification (CLD). Il étudie les liens entre la dégradation des sols et la pauvreté, le rôle des ONGs de même que la gouvernance dans la mise en oeuvre de la CLD. Les auteurs jettent également un regard sur les différentes approches de lutte à la désertification, sur les programmes d'actions nationaux et sur les nouvelles avenues pour renforcer la mise en oeuvre de la Convention.
